A look back at the highlights of 2025

Many of you have been following Muriel Pénicaud's photographic news. In 2025, her work led to unexpected encounters, collaborations, and exhibitions in France and abroad.
A look back at the highlights:

January

Muriel Pénicaud presents two simultaneous exhibitions in Pondicherry, India:
Deep Heights, at the Kalinka Gallery, from January 17 to February 23, 2025
Wind into the Roots, at The Spot Hotel, from January 17 to February 28, 2025

March

The Amarrage gallery in Saint-Ouen presents L’Envolée, a solo exhibition by Muriel Pénicaud, from March 15 to April 6, 2025. The exhibition is featured in an article in Le Parisien.

Award ceremony for the photo contest " Prix du Regard – Puissance du Lien" (The Power of Connection), whose jury was chaired by Muriel Pénicaud.

The photograph Who are you, you who are watching? inspired a creation by designer Jérôme Blin, presented for the first time in his Émergence collection, unveiled on March 13 at the Hôtel du Grand Veneur.

April

Muriel Pénicaud participates in the De Main de Maîtretrade show, organized by the Confédération Française des Métiers d’Art (French Confederation of Artistic Crafts). She presents the Human at Work series, which questions how work structures our lives. A selection of images from the series is presented here.

May

The exhibition The Shadow of Your Dreams, a dialogue between photography and poetry with Birago Diop and Rennie Yotova, is being presented in two locations:
- from May 14 to early July at MuPho La Galerie (Dakar) .
- from May 17 to November 30, 2025 at MuPho Les Comptoirs - Musée de la Photographie de Saint-Louis.

July

Muriel Pénicaud, winner of the 2024 Julia Margaret Cameron Award, is participating in the winners' exhibition at the Fotonostrum gallery in Barcelona.

She receives awards at the Monovisions Awards.

September

Muriel Pénicaud is the guest of the Franco-Hellenic Applied Dialogues in Athens. As part of the Shaping the Future event, organized at the Hellenic American Union, she will give a lecture entitled The Future of Labor on September 17, then present the Matrix of Worlds exhibition, in collaboration with the Citronne Gallery, at the Ghikas Gallery of the Hellenic American Union, from September 18 to October 8, 2025.

October

For the second consecutive year, Muriel Pénicaud is participating in the Immersion/s exhibition of exceptional crafts with two exhibitions:
Jeux de mains, a new series dedicated to the momentum of human creativity. Whether they create, care, reassure, share, dance, or love, hands reveal our intimate stories and the universal beauty of our gestures.
Who are you? Polyphony born from a photograph, a collective creation offering an artistic reinterpretation of his photograph Who are you, you who are looking?. It brings together nine artisans who, each through their expertise, create a dialogue between photography and materials such as glass, metal, wood, lacquer, and straw.

November

Invited by director Aquin Mathews, Muriel Pénicaud is participating inthe Indian Photo Festival, India's oldest international photography festival. She is exhibiting Matrice des Mondes (Matrice of Worlds) and hosting a discussion about her career and artistic approach. The exhibition is on display at the State Art Gallery from November 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

She also chairs the 2025 Jeunes d'Avenirs Photo Trophy competition.
