Fiber from Around the World

Indian Resonance

"Fibre du monde " is an invitation to see things differently. A longtime advocate for women’s rights, Muriel Pénicaud pays tribute—through her photographs taken in India, Rajasthan, Bangalore, and the Araku Valley—to the strength, dignity, and solidarity of the women she has met throughout her activism.

The prints, created on Bizan Japanese paper, carry on this tradition. The generous strength of the mulberry fiber pays tribute to the courage of these women—weavers of fabrics, bonds, and life—that same fiber of flesh and love that connects us all, like an invisible thread.
