"Le vent sous les ailes" (Wind beneath her wings), Muriel Pénicaud, Minister of Labor, will exhibit her art photographs, 2018
By Geoffroy Clavel
Between a thorny reform of vocational training and a delicate court appearance in the Business France case, the Minister of Labor still finds time to give free rein to her artistic talents. Starting May 18, Muriel Pénicaud will be exhibiting 22 photographs of birds in Andrésy (Yvelines) as part of the contemporary art exhibition "Sculptures en l'île" (Sculptures on the Island).
Entitled "Wind under the wings," this black-and-white work depicts birds in flight or at rest in a highly stylized manner, as you can see in the three photos below.

"Currently Minister of Labor, Muriel Pénicaud also has two passions: photography and writing," explains the press kit for the exhibition, which welcomes nearly 40,000 visitors each year between May and September. "Muriel Pénicaud does not 'photograph birds'. She photographs what they still embody: myths, divinities, angels, demons, humans. She attempts to restore within us a part of the splendor that once belonged to us," notes Pierre Bongiovanni, curator of the exhibition, quoted in the press kit.
