“Obscure Clarté” Nominated for the Audience Award | reFocus Award 2026

"Obscure Clarity," taken in Hokkaido during my last trip to Japan in 2025, has just been nominated for the People's Choice Award at the 2026 reFocus Photo Awards.

At dawn and dusk alike, the forest slowly reveals itself. Is that tree standing tall in the night illuminated by the moon? The depth of its light draws us toward its secret and its mysterious power. A link between earth and sky, it stands at the heart of the living world. Long revered by humanity, then colonized, exploited, and largely destroyed, the tree endures far beyond our perception of time. It is our master of resilience, patience, and generosity.
