2024 Winner of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award

We are proud to announce that Muriel Pénicaud has been named the 2024 Winner and “Overall Global Winner” in the “Non-Professional” category at the 23rd edition of the prestigious Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers for her photograph “Who are you, you who are watching?”.

This exceptional edition was judged by Elizabeth Avedon, a renowned photographer, Guggenheim Fellow, and recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including three Pulitzer Prizes and an Emmy Award. Among the 910 photographers from 63 countries who submitted 6,875 photographs, Muriel distinguished herself with her iconic work, “Who are you, you who are watching?”

The Julia Margaret Cameron Award, organized by the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards, annually celebrates the talent of women photographers, both professional and amateur, and highlights exceptional works across all photographic styles.

This international recognition confirms Muriel Pénicaud's unique artistic vision and her exceptional ability to evoke emotion and provoke thought through imagery.
